In the years of 1994 - 2001 our family ran Greene Acres Bread Market in our back yard!  We had a large barn/workshop that my husband refurbished to be a country market.  We lived in the boonies and when I approached Poppee (who wasn't Poppee then - only Roger) about the idea of a market he agreed to help us begin it as a family business but really thot I was reaching for the moon!  After all we lived out in the middle of nowhere....who would shop in our backyard!?!

What wonderful years of memories that brings thinking of our little country market!  We met 1000's of people - many of whom became our dear friends.  Actually because of folks we met at our market, 2 of our married children eventually married their spouses because of contacts thru our country market.  We sold the market when moving to our wild and wooly 130 acres as we had a long road ahead of us to tame the acres and homestead and couldn't practically move a thriving market overnight and set shop back up with no place to set it up!

Down the road "Marmee's Kitchen" was created as a webstore...then grew to beyond the "kitchen" to become MarmeeDear & Co, Offering All Things Precious & Pleasant for the Home Circle.

Due to my love of baking homemade breads and the wonderful help the BOSCH is to me in baking daily for my family we have plans to open up Marmee's Bread Market in the very near future.  It will be a webstore & offer local pick-ups. We have purchased a home for the market at www.marmeesbreadmarket.com  ~ a one-stop-shop for HomeBakers!

I already offer many products and the BOSCH mixers and grain mills here at MarmeeDear but my BREAD MARKET will be loaded with essentials, equipment, ingredients, and delights for HomeBakers! We are planning bunches of baking helps including video clips of baking days in my kitchen, baking tutorials,  "The Bread Box" for owners of the BOSCH mixer with 2 issues (per year), like a magazine, loaded with all sorts of new and exciting ways to use your BOSCH mixer and recipes galore.

The exciting thing about the BREAD MARKET is along with a shopping cart to receive orders from around the world - we will be offering LOCAL PICK-UP  to homebakers in our area.  This will eliminate steep shipping costs for bulk bread baking ingredients and grains.  A downloadable-printable paper catalogue will be available on the webstore for any HomeBakers in our local area of SC, USA.  Actually at Greene Acres Bread Market we had shoppers from 2 surrounding states and customers from waaay far away to visit and shop with us!

We will offer the super quality bread wheat from Wheat Montana farms in 50 # sacks and even storage solutions like large canisters for storing your grains along with many, many wonderful wholesome ingredients and supplies.  This will truly be a one-stop-shop for HomeBakers!  I am so excited!  We have a number of things to complete to get the webstore all designed and ready for shoppers. Just wanted to drop the news to my local area readers and we hope to see you at the Bread Market on opening day!

Our projected opening day is Oct 1 if we don't hit too many bumps or stop signs!

Happy Baking!

Marmee

Martha, this is so exciting ! I cannot tell you what a help you've been to my bread making through your bread making DVD, your web site and the Bread Basket Cookbook. I owned my Bosch for years before I ever used it for anything but shredding cheese ! I'm looking forward to your new site, but I sure with I lived closer to Honea Path. I'd visit your new store every day.
