BOSCH & Bread

My discovery of the BOSCH Kitchen Mixer was accidental.  I wasn't looking for a kitchen mixer. Actually I didn't know a wonderful piece of equipment like that existed.  But I did really want to make our daily bread.  The only problem was - when I had tried my hand at baking bread, it was like a brick - something you'd use to weight down a tarp, not anything that could be enjoyed with peanut butter and grape jelly smeared between two thick slices. . .not a loaf my family could heartily "give thanks" for.

Our family was at a picnic hosted by some friends.  A guest to the picnic arrived with 10 loaves of freshly baked, whole wheat bread on a tray!  I was impressed!  She didn't look frazzled as if she had been slaving in her kitchen all day...yea, she must have bought it and unwrapped it and put it on that tray to impress us all.  When we tasted it we knew this was NOT store-bought bread!  I had to meet my friend's guest and talk to this lady!

We sat and listened in disbelief as she told us, "Sure, I grind all my own grain and bake 5 loaves at a time."  I was picturing her kitchen...I was sure she must have a this special bread-baking room built on her house to do all this stuff?  She proceeded to tell me about the mixer and grain mill, how easy it was to use, how healthy the bread was, and on and on.  We decided then and there - we had to get our own! My husband was telling me on the way home, "Whatever you have to get to make bread like that -- get it!"

We bought our BOSCH mixer and kitchen grain mill that next week.  That was over 18 years ago.  I've haven't bought a loaf oBOSCHf store-bought bread since I became the blessed owner of a BOSCH Mixer.  I still marvel every day at this great machine.  We use it daily - making homemade milkshakes, fruit smoothies, mixing up cookie dough -nice, BIG batches is a snap!-, kneading our daily bread, dinner rolls, cinnamon buns. pizza crusts...... There are very few days that pass  that our BOSCH doesn't get plugged in and used to help me in my daily kitchen tasks.

You know, the days of old sound so romantic, but I don't know how the women on the prairie did it??!!??  Baking bread in a wood cook stove, fetching the water from the creek, churning the butter, stitching and mending by candlelight, and all else they accomplished.  Marmee is old-fashioned at heart, but I LOVE modern conveniences!  The  has truly been one of my greatest tools to help me in my job of feeding my family and is so easy to use and reliable and durable even after years of daily use.  Here in BOSCH & BREAD you will find all you need to make it special ~ HOMEMADE with LOVE!
