I recently purchased a planner for 2010 from MarmeeDear & Co.
It’s beautiful, feminine and meets most of my needs … now it’s time to personalize it and here are some of the ways I’ll be doing just that …
The first page in my planner is the ownership page where I’ll write my name.
Next, I’ll go to the Important Phone Numbers Section and add such numbers as family, doctors, pharmacy, hair stylist, etc
After that, I’ll go to the Birthdays & Special Days Section where I’ll hand write the birthdays and special days of those nearest and dearest to me.
Then, comes the everyday practical use of my planner and ways I’ll be using it:
As a log book for weekly weigh-ins … as much as I dislike ‘weigh-ins’ they are an effective tool for helping me ‘watch’ my weight.
As a journal to write down something about each day ... appointments, events, family happenings, thoughts, etc. Each day will have something noted about it.
As a menu planner … I'll be taking advantage of the menu planning pages included in my planner.
As a log for setting realistic personal goals … I’ll make these goals on a month to month basis, as well as a few year long goals that will be recorded and broken down into manageable parts.
As a financial planner … I’ll be noting which bills get paid out of each pay check as well as financial goals for the year.
As a keepsake for 2010 … the planner I chose for 2010 has homemaking tidbits scattered throughout, places for notes, it has to-do lists, Scriptures, recipes and pages to add a personal touch of my own. As my body grows older and my memory fades, what a sweet reminder this planner will be of the year 2010.
