A lady started a boy's group using this HANDYBOOK and this is the comment she just sent into Gail Kappenman who co-authored the book with me - isn't this a great idea!!!??! --

We had our first Handy Young Men meeting today! We started with cooking. We had the boys draw numbers for the cooking terms in the dictionary in the front and tell them the cooking term, and see if they knew what it was. It went well, they liked that!  We also gave them all of the needed items to set a place at the table. We talked about the different utensils, and added some interesting side info on when people started using forks, and when china plates came to be in use etc., We made the mini meatloaves, and the cheese biscuits. The boys were quite proud of themselves!  We are going to poll the boys on what we'll cover next. We also are going to have the boys keep track of when they help in the kitchen between this session and our next and tell about it at the next meeting!
